About Akwamuman Senior High
Akwamuman Senior High was established in 1969 through the initiative of Odeneho Kwafo Akoto II and other traditional leaders of Akwamu. It began as a private secondary and commercial school before entering the public education system.
Students are commonly associated with the name Ahenemma, reflecting the school's close relationship with the Akwamu traditional area. The motto, "Discipline and Knowledge," puts conduct and learning beside each other rather than treating them as separate parts of education.
Akwamuman SHS has Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics and Visual Arts, and the programme pages can help you compare the subject combinations.

History
Akwamuman Senior High was established in 1969 as a private secondary and commercial school by Odeneho Kwafo Akoto II, Omanhene of the Akwamu Traditional Area, with support from other traditional leaders.
A detailed school profile records that the school was absorbed into the public education system in January 1972.
The first students learned in a wooden structure belonging to the first principal, Manasseh Kwapong. The school later moved to its present area near Atimpoku and developed full day-and-boarding facilities.
Akwamuman began as a traditional-area initiative, so the school's identity has always been connected to the community that decided it needed a secondary school of its own.
Academics
Akwamuman Senior High teaches Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics and Visual Arts at SHS level.
Agricultural Science is not currently offered, which is worth noting because old programme lists can continue circulating after a school's offerings change.

Facilities
Akwamuman's documented facilities include classrooms, science laboratories, a computer laboratory, a library and residential infrastructure.
The school has also had to keep improving sanitation and accommodation as enrolment grew. A Graphic Online report documented a modern toilet facility for the girls' dormitories, built with its own borehole and overhead water tank.
Student Life
Ahenemma is the identity commonly used by students and old students of Akwamuman. The name reflects the traditional roots of the school and gives current students a link to the Akwamu story behind its foundation.
School profiles list drama and debating, science, business, scripture, choir, Red Cross, environmental and cadet activities among the ways students can participate beyond lessons.
Accommodation
Akwamuman Senior High runs day and boarding arrangements. Day students leave after school activities, while Akwamuman SHS boarders continue with meals and evening study on campus.
The school's history of pressure on dormitories and sanitation shows why residential capacity matters as enrolment grows.
When your Akwamuman SHS placement arrives, look for the part that says day or boarding.
