OLA Girls Senior High, Kenyasi
About OLA Girls Senior High, Kenyasi
OLA Girls Senior High in Kenyasi grew out of a local push to make secondary education more accessible to girls in what is now the Ahafo Region. The chief of Kenyasi Number II, his elders and the community worked with the Catholic Church and the Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Apostles to turn that idea into a school.
The school opened in 1974 with only 34 girls. Its identity still centres on Catholic formation, girls' education and values such as perseverance, dignity, integrity and discipline.
Students at OLA Girls Kenyasi can choose Business, General Arts, General Science and Home Economics, with the programme pages showing what each choice covers.

History
The story of OLA Girls Kenyasi began when Odeneho Dadeako Kwabena Nsiah-Ababio II, his elders and local residents pushed for a secondary school dedicated to girls' education.
The school's official history explains how Bishop James Kwadwo Owusu invited the Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Apostles to help establish the school.
OLA Girls opened on 27 September 1974 with 34 students. In those early days, Kenyasi had limited infrastructure, and the first students relied on community support while permanent classrooms and convent facilities were developed.
The school exists because a local community decided that girls should not have to leave the area before they could access serious secondary education.
