Anglican Senior High School, Kumasi
About Anglican Senior High School, Kumasi
Kumasi Anglican Senior High School sits at Asem, but its story began before there was a KASS. The site first served Anglican theological and teacher training before being converted into a secondary school in 1973.
Students and old students call themselves Disciples. That word fits the school's motto, "Unity, Truth and Service," and the Anglican idea that education should shape both knowledge and character.
Students choosing KASS can take Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics and Visual Arts; the programme pages make the differences easier to see.

History
The land at Asem had an Anglican educational purpose long before KASS opened. In the early twentieth century, the English Church Mission acquired the site for clergy training. It later housed St. Augustine's Theological College and the Anglican Training College.
The school's official history explains how the teacher-training school was converted into a secondary school in 1973.
That background helps explain why Anglican tradition is still so visible. KASS did not simply adopt a church identity later. It inherited one from the schools that occupied the site before it.
The secondary school is one chapter in a much longer educational story at Asem.
Academics
KASS prepares students for the WASSCE through Business, Home Economics, Visual Arts, General Arts and General Science.
That gives you a mix of analytical, scientific, creative and practical routes. A student choosing General Science will meet a very different weekly workload from someone in Visual Arts or Home Economics.
Read the Visual Arts guide before putting Visual Arts at KASS on your school list.
Admissions & Entry Guidance
Anglican Senior High School, Kumasi admits first-year students through the national placement system. Look at the subjects in Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics and Visual Arts, not only the KASS name.
KASS has day and boarding students, but your placement will say which applies to you. Read it on the CSSPS website.
Facilities
KASS uses an urban campus that has served different schools over time. Today, students use classrooms, science spaces, a library, creative-learning areas, dining facilities and sports grounds across the school.
The important question is how those resources connect to your own programme. General Science students need dependable laboratory access, while Home Economics and Visual Arts depend more heavily on specialist practical spaces.
Different programmes at Anglican Senior High School, Kumasi rely on different parts of the campus, from ordinary classrooms to practical work areas.
Student Life
The word "Disciple" is one of the clearest markers of KASS identity. It is used for current students and alumni and links school pride with the Anglican language of service and character.
Student life reaches into sport, cadet activity, clubs, worship and leadership. KASS was also among the Ashanti Region schools whose students joined newly inaugurated Justice Clubs, giving students another space to think about leadership, rights and responsibility.
Accommodation
Anglican Senior High School, Kumasi runs day and boarding arrangements. Day students leave after school activities, while KASS boarders continue with meals and evening study on campus.
Check the wording on your KASS placement so you know whether to prepare for day or boarding school.
