About Bechem Presby Senior High
Bechem Presbyterian Senior High opened in 1966 after an initiative led by the Bechem traditional leadership and handed to the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. The school began with only 50 students and has grown into a large mixed day-and-boarding school.
The Presbyterian character of the school places academic work beside discipline, moral development and service. That identity is also visible in the commitment of old students, who have repeatedly returned to support major school projects.

History
Bechem PRESEC was formally opened on 23 February 1966. The idea of the school was initiated by the Bechem traditional leadership and the school was handed over to the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.
A Graphic Online account of the 50th anniversary records an initial intake of 50 students.
The school grew from that small beginning into one of the major secondary schools in the Ahafo area.
The history of Bechem PRESEC is a good example of traditional authority, church leadership and public education meeting around the same goal: create a serious secondary school for the community.

The current school register lists Agricultural Science, Business, Home Economics, Visual Arts, General Arts and General Science at Bechem PRESEC.

Facilities
Bechem PRESEC's growth has placed pressure on learning facilities, and the library has been one of the clearest examples.
