About Kumasi Academy
Kumasi Academy grew out of Baptist missionary education at Asokore-Mampong. The school began as Sadler Baptist College before becoming the public school now widely known as KUMACA.
Its motto, Vouloir C'est Pouvoir, means "Where there is a will, there is a way." Past students are known as Akunini, and the old-student community remains visibly involved in campus development.
KUMACA gives students a choice of Agricultural Science, Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics, STEM and Visual Arts; the programme pages set out the subjects in each one.

History
Kumasi Academy was founded through the work of the American Baptist Missionary Union at Asokore-Mampong. The school developed from a middle school and seminary into a secondary school that became known as Sadler Baptist College.
The school's official history explains how the Baptist Mission later handed the school to government and how the school eventually became Kumasi Academy.
The Baptist connection did not disappear with government administration. Religious instruction and a culture of discipline remained part of the school's identity.
KUMACA's history is a story of change without completely losing its founding character.
Academics
Programme choices at Kumasi Academy include Agricultural Science, Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics, STEM and Visual Arts.
The addition of STEM gives students another route into computing, engineering and robotics alongside the school's more established programmes.
The subjects within Stem are set out in the Stem guide; check them before choosing KUMACA.
Admissions & Entry Guidance
Entry to Kumasi Academy starts with the choices you make after BECE. When choosing KUMACA after BECE, compare the subjects in Agricultural Science, Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics, STEM and Visual Arts.
Past KUMACA cut-offs may be useful for comparison, but do not rely on them as a fixed admission mark.
KUMACA has day and boarding students, but your placement will say which applies to you. Read it on the CSSPS website.
Facilities
KUMACA has received substantial old-student support for science and technology. The most visible example is the Akunini Science Laboratory, a purpose-built facility funded by the past-student association.
A Ghanaian Chronicle report describes the laboratory, science library and plans for internet-connected computers to support research.
Student Life
KUMACA students and past students use the name Akunini, and the alumni community is organised around maintaining a long-term relationship with the school.
The school community also includes cadet activity, choir, sport, clubs and student leadership. Those activities give students several ways to take part beyond the academic programme.
Accommodation
Kumasi Academy runs day and boarding arrangements. Day students leave after school activities, while KUMACA boarders continue with meals and evening study on campus.
The campus has grown alongside the student population, and old-student projects have included sanitation and other residential improvements as well as academic facilities.
When your KUMACA placement arrives, look for the part that says day or boarding.
