History
Lawra Senior High was established on 11 October 1968 with 55 students and two teachers. Alhaji Raheem Gbadamosi served as the first headmaster.
A GBC Ghana report from the school's 50th anniversary records the founding figures and recognises the first headmaster's role in building a culture of discipline.
From that small beginning, LAWSEC developed into one of the long-established senior high schools in the Upper West Region.
The school's history begins with only a few classrooms' worth of students, which makes its later scale easier to appreciate.
Academics
The current school information lists Business, Home Economics, General Arts and General Science at Lawra Senior High.
That focused programme list means you should pay close attention to what is not offered as well as what is available. Agricultural Science, Visual Arts and STEM are not currently offered.
Before choosing Business at LAWSEC, read the Business guide and check the subject mix.

Public school profiles list an ICT laboratory, science laboratories and several classroom blocks at LAWSEC. Residential life also depends on dormitories, dining, sanitation and safe communication across the campus.
A Ghana News Agency report shows LASSOSA continuing to support the school, including funding for a siren to improve communication during emergencies.
Student Life
LAWSEC students take part in sport, leadership, clubs and school events alongside their formal academic work.
The old-student association, LASSOSA, remains active and visible. Its members continue to contribute money, practical equipment and organisational support to the school.
That relationship gives current students a clear example of how school identity can continue after graduation.
