Notre Dame Girls' Senior High School was created in Sunyani to give more young women access to strong secondary education in a Catholic environment. The school opened in 1987 through the work of the Catholic Diocese of Sunyani, the School Sisters of Notre Dame and the Fiapre community.
The motto, "In God We Are One," reflects the School Sisters of Notre Dame tradition of education that joins faith, learning, dignity and service.

History
Notre Dame Girls was established on 28 September 1987 through the cooperation of Bishop James Kwadwo Owusu, the School Sisters of Notre Dame and the chiefs and people of Fiapre.
The School Sisters of Notre Dame record that their sisters had arrived in Sunyani the previous year and began the school from temporary premises near Christ the King Catholic Cathedral.
The permanent Fiapre campus came later. Construction took time because resources were limited, and the school eventually moved to the area donated by the local community.
Notre Dame's growth is a reminder that a respected school can begin with limited space, a small community and a very clear educational purpose.

The current register lists Business, Home Economics, Visual Arts, General Arts and General Science at Notre Dame Girls.
