Osei Tutu Senior High School, Akropong
About Osei Tutu Senior High School, Akropong
Osei Tutu Senior High School has changed form more than once since it was founded in 1940. It began as a Methodist boys' boarding school, later became a teacher-training college and eventually developed into the senior high school now based at Akropong.
Students and old boys are known as Abrempɔn. The motto, "My Utmost for His Highest," sits comfortably beside a school culture built around Methodist values, Asante identity and the expectation that students should make the most of their abilities.
Osei Tutu SHS has Agricultural Science, Business, General Arts, General Science and Visual Arts, and the programme pages can help you compare the subject combinations.

History
Osei Tutu was established in 1940 by the Methodist Church as a boys' middle boarding school. The first headmaster, Rev. Arthur W. Banks, began with 13 students.
The school's official history records how the school moved to Akropong in 1948, closed briefly in the 1950s, reopened as a teacher-training college and was later converted into a secondary school.
The school was named after Otumfuo Osei Tutu I, founder of the Asante Kingdom. That connection gives Asante history and royal identity an unusually visible place in the school's culture.
Few SHSs have passed through as many forms as Osei Tutu. Boarding school, training college and secondary school all form part of the same story.
Academics
Osei Tutu prepares students for the WASSCE through Agricultural Science, Business, Visual Arts, General Arts and General Science.
The science department describes practical lessons as a regular part of the programme and notes that science students choose combinations built around Physics, Chemistry, Elective Mathematics, Biology or ICT.
Use the General Science guide to compare General Science with the other options at Osei Tutu SHS.
