Institution guide

History

Serwaah Nyarko Girls was established in October 2004 as a girls' school at Dichemso. The campus had previously been used by Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School.

A National Schools Inspectorate Authority report records that the school was named after the late Asante Queen Mother Nana Serwaah Nyarko following consultations with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

That royal connection is still reflected in the language students use about themselves. "Royal Ladies" is not just a slogan for events. It has become part of how the school frames confidence, conduct and belonging.

Serwaah Nyarko Girls is a relatively young school, but it has developed a very distinct identity in a short time.

Academics

The school prepares students for the WASSCE through Business, Home Economics, Visual Arts, General Arts and General Science.

Those five options ask for different strengths. Science leans more heavily on laboratory work and mathematics, while Visual Arts and Home Economics include more practical production alongside theory.

Read the Home Economics guide before putting Home Economics at Serwaah Nyarko Girls on your school list.

Accommodation

Serwaah Nyarko Girls' Senior High School runs day and boarding arrangements. Day students leave after school activities, while Serwaah Nyarko Girls boarders continue with meals and evening study on campus.
