History
St. Augustine's College started at Amissano near Elmina in 1930. The Roman Catholic school began within a setting that combined teacher training, seminary formation and secondary education.
The College later developed a separate home in Cape Coast. Its official school website places faith, knowledge and leadership at the centre of the school's story.
The name comes from St. Augustine of Hippo, while the green and white colours and Catholic symbols around the school reflect the religious foundation on which the College was built.
The motto Omnia Vincit Labor has lasted because it is simple and demanding: perseverance conquers all.
Academics
Augusco prepares students for the WASSCE through Agricultural Science, Business, General Arts and General Science.
The official school site describes the science route around Physics, Chemistry and Biology, while Business includes areas such as Accounting, Business Management, Economics and Elective Mathematics.
The General Science guide shows what students study in that option at St. Augustine's College.

The needs of a General Science student are different from those of someone studying Business or General Arts. Laboratory access matters more in one route, while reading, writing and quantitative work may dominate another.
Student Life
Old boys of St. Augustine's call themselves APSUnians, and that identity has been organised through the St. Augustine's Past Students Union for generations.
The APSU USA community describes the old-boy network around brotherhood, service and support for the College. Those ties are a useful window into how strongly students continue to identify with Augusco after leaving school.
Faith, house life, sport, school events and student activities add another layer to the academic experience. For many students, those relationships are what turn a school into a community.
