About St. Peter's Senior High School, Nkwatia
St. Peter's Senior High School began in Nkwatia-Kwahu in 1957 with 36 students and two teachers. What started in a private residence grew into the Catholic boys' school widely known as PERSCO.
The school's motto is Dignitati Hominum, meaning "For the Dignity of Mankind." Catholic formation remains part of the school's character, but PERSCO is also known for science, sport, old-boy involvement and a strong sense of identity built around Nkwatia.
PERSCO has Agricultural Science, Business, General Arts, General Science and Visual Arts, and the programme pages can help you compare the subject combinations.

History
The idea for St. Peter's took shape in the mid-1950s when leaders in Nkwatia worked with the Society of the Divine Word Missionaries to establish a secondary school for boys.
Classes began on 5 February 1957 in the home of Opanyin Onwona Farkye with 36 students. Rev. Fr. Clement Hotze taught Arts while Mr. Agyare handled Science. A recent PERSCO school profile brings together the school's founding story, Catholic identity and present-day school information.
The Nkwatia community also helped the new school take shape, including work around early science and campus facilities. That local involvement matters because PERSCO was not simply placed in the town. It grew with support from the people around it.
The original mission was academic formation with character. That combination still appears in the school motto and in the way old students talk about PERSCO.
Academics
PERSCO prepares students for the WASSCE through Agricultural Science, Business, Visual Arts, General Arts and General Science.
The programme names may look familiar, but the elective combinations lead in different directions. A student aiming at engineering or medicine will usually need a different route from someone interested in business, communication, agriculture or design.
Use the General Science guide to compare General Science with the other options at PERSCO.

Facilities
PERSCO's campus includes classrooms, science laboratories, computing facilities, boarding houses, sports spaces and the school chapel. The school has also continued adding technology-focused resources rather than relying only on its older infrastructure.
One example is an artificial-intelligence laboratory launched with support from old students and technology partners. The Ghana Education Service's account of the project describes the lab as a space for innovation, research and practical digital work.
Student Life
PERSCO students and old boys share an identity that stays visible long after graduation. The yellow-and-green colours, Catholic traditions, sports culture and the crocodile associated with the school all contribute to a community with its own language and memories.
That connection can be seen in the old-boy network. The PERSCOBA Run to 70 initiative brought alumni together around friendship, school projects and preparations for the school's anniversary celebrations.
Clubs, worship, sport, house life and student leadership give students several ways to belong outside the classroom. Those experiences often become the stories old boys remember most clearly.
