About Adonten Senior High
Adonten Senior High in Aburi began as a private school and later became part of Ghana's public secondary system. Its story stretches from a modest beginning in the Akuapem hills to a mixed day-and-boarding school serving students across six academic programmes.
The motto, "Brighten Your Corner," is simple enough to remember, but it also gives you a useful picture of the culture the school tries to build: do your part well, wherever you find yourself.
The options at ADONSCO are Agricultural Science, Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics and Visual Arts; compare their subjects on the programme pages.

History
Adonten Senior High was established in Aburi in 1957 by Moses Agyare Kwabi as a private secondary school. The Ministry of Education absorbed it into the public system in 1963, and government later assumed full responsibility for the school.
A school history also records the gradual move from the old site at Asuafum to the present campus, a transition that required years of work on water, dormitories, roads, kitchens and other basic facilities.
The interesting part of Adonten's history is not just that the school grew. It had to keep functioning while the campus itself was being built around the students.
Academics
Agricultural Science, Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics and Visual Arts make up the programme list at Adonten Senior High.
If you are comparing the science-based options, do not treat Agricultural Science and General Science as interchangeable. They share some scientific thinking, but the subject combinations and the directions they prepare you for are different.
Before choosing General Science at ADONSCO, read the General Science guide and check the subject mix.

Facilities
Adonten has developed science laboratories, an ICT laboratory, a library, Home Economics and Visual Arts spaces, sporting areas and boarding facilities.
The school's own history shows why those facilities should not be taken for granted. Earlier students dealt with water shortages, temporary dining arrangements and a campus that was still being completed in stages.
Student Life
Adonten's mixed day-and-boarding structure creates two slightly different school routines. Boarders spend more of the evening inside the school community, while day students balance school life with travel and home responsibilities.
The school has also built a record in athletics and science-related competitions, giving students room to represent the school outside ordinary classroom work.
Accommodation
Students at Adonten Senior High may attend as day students or boarders. Those boarding at ADONSCO stay on campus during the term.
