About Anlo Senior High School

Anlo Senior High School in Anloga grew out of a community effort to create a strong secondary school within the Anlo area. The school opened in 1959 and has since become widely known as ANSECO.

The motto, "Truth and Service," is simple enough to remember, but it asks something demanding of students: learn seriously, act honestly and use what you know in ways that help other people.

Students at ANSECO can choose Agricultural Science, Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics and Visual Arts, with the programme pages showing what each choice covers.

History

ANSECO was established on 10 April 1959 as Anlo High School. Its founding is associated with Torgbui Adeladza II, C. K. Fiagbe and J. W. K. Doe, who helped turn the idea of a community secondary school into a working school.

A documented history of the school records the original name, the founding figures and the later absorption of the school into Ghana's public education system.

The crest reflects the world around Anloga. It includes symbols connected to knowledge, farming, fishing, unity and the Anlo State, making the school's identity closely tied to the community that created it.

ANSECO began because people in Anlo wanted secondary education rooted in their own community rather than something students always had to travel elsewhere to find.

Academics

The current school register lists Agricultural Science, Business, Home Economics, Visual Arts, General Arts and General Science at ANSECO.

That gives you six distinct options. Some lean heavily on science and mathematics, others on practical work, commerce, creativity or the humanities.

The Agricultural Science guide shows what students study in that option at ANSECO.

Facilities

A large day-and-boarding school needs more than classrooms. Students also depend on laboratories, furniture, dormitories, sanitation, assembly space and places where school activities can happen properly.

A Ghana News Agency report documented the handover of a multipurpose hall to ANSECO as part of efforts to improve teaching, learning and school activities.

Student Life

Students and old students commonly identify strongly with the ANSECO name, while ANSSOSA connects alumni across Ghana and abroad.

That old-student network continues to support everyday school needs. Alumni groups have contributed desks and taken on projects around sanitation and academic facilities.

Sport, clubs, cultural activity, leadership and academic competitions give students other ways to participate beyond classroom work.
