History

Apam Senior High was founded on 20 February 1953 by the late Rev. J. W. De-Graft Johnson.

The school's official history says it began in a cocoa shed at Apaa Paado with 20 students and two staff members before moving to its present site in 1960.

That beginning is worth remembering because GREAT APASS grew out of very modest conditions into a long-established public secondary school.

Facilities

APASS developed its present campus over decades, after moving from its original site to Mmofra Mfa Adwen in 1960.

The school's official history records how early students dealt with shortages in water, dining space and boarding facilities while the new campus was still developing.
