About Asamankese Senior High
Asamankese Senior High, often called ASASCO, has served West Akim since 1963. The school grew from a much smaller school into a large mixed day-and-boarding community, and that growth has shaped both its opportunities and its infrastructure needs.
Students at ASASCO can choose Agricultural Science, Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics and Visual Arts, with the programme pages showing what each choice covers.

History
Asamankese Senior High was established in 1963 and has grown into one of the large public senior high schools serving the West Akim area.
A report published during the school's 50th-anniversary period records the 1963 foundation and shows how much the student population had expanded by that point.
That growth brought opportunity to more students, but it also placed heavy pressure on classrooms, accommodation and other facilities.
ASASCO's history is therefore not only about longevity. It is also about what happens when a school becomes important to far more families than its original infrastructure was designed to serve.
Academics
Students at Asamankese Senior High can choose Agricultural Science, Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics and Visual Arts.
That gives you several possible directions, but the programme itself should be chosen around the subjects required for your next step.
The Business guide shows what students study in that option at ASASCO.
Admissions & Entry Guidance
If Asamankese Senior High is on your list after BECE, your application will go through the national placement system. Compare the subjects in Agricultural Science, Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics and Visual Arts before choosing ASASCO.
Your ASASCO result on the CSSPS website will include the day or boarding detail, so read it before making plans.
School placement is managed through CSSPS.
Facilities
ASASCO's large student population has made infrastructure a recurring part of the school's story.
A mechanised water system was handed over to the school in 2024 after students and staff had dealt with persistent difficulty accessing potable water. Graphic Online documented the project and the relief it brought to the school community.
Student Life
ASASCO students take part in sport, leadership, clubs and academic competition alongside their normal lessons.
The school has appeared on the National Science and Maths Quiz stage, giving science students a chance to test speed, teamwork and problem-solving against students from other schools.
Accommodation
Students at Asamankese Senior High may attend as day students or boarders. Those boarding at ASASCO stay on campus during the term.
Boarding places extra importance on water, sanitation, dormitory capacity and supervision because those services become part of students' everyday lives.
