About Bawku Senior High
Bawku Senior High was established in 1963 as one of Ghana's post-independence secondary-school projects. The mixed day-and-boarding school began with a small intake and grew into an important second-cycle school serving Bawku and surrounding communities.
The motto, Veritas Lux Mundi, means "Truth is the Light of the World." That emphasis on truth sits alongside the school's stated focus on discipline, moral values and academic development.
Students at BAWSCO can choose Agricultural Science, Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics and Visual Arts, with the programme pages showing what each choice covers.

History
Bawku Senior High was established in October 1963 with an initial student population of 50. The school formed part of the wider expansion of secondary education during the early years of independent Ghana.
A school profile records the 1963 establishment, co-educational structure and the motto Veritas Lux Mundi.
Old students commonly organise through BOSA, giving the school a network that stretches well beyond Bawku itself.
The school's history is closely tied to a national effort to make secondary education more available in parts of Ghana that had fewer established schools.
Academics
The current register lists Agricultural Science, Business, Home Economics, Visual Arts, General Arts and General Science at Bawku Senior High.
Six programmes give students several routes into tertiary education, training and work, but the subject demands differ significantly from one option to another.
The Agricultural Science guide shows what students study in that option at BAWSCO.
Admissions & Entry Guidance

School placement is managed through CSSPS.
Facilities
The school has classrooms, science laboratories, ICT facilities, a library and boarding infrastructure, but current condition matters as much as the list itself.
During the school's 60th-anniversary launch, the headmaster spoke publicly about inadequate furniture, an under-resourced ICT laboratory and library, a broken fence wall and other infrastructure pressure. The Ghana News Agency report also documented how insecurity in Bawku was affecting teachers and students.
Student Life
BOSA, the Bawku Senior High Old Students Association, gives current students a visible link to generations who passed through the school before them.
A GNA report on an alumni homecoming records old students supporting water, roads, staff accommodation and other school needs.
Students also take part in sport, clubs, leadership, worship and academic activities that create life beyond formal lessons.
Accommodation
Bawku Senior High has both day and boarding students. Boarders at BAWSCO stay on campus for meals and evening study, while day students go home after school activities.
The boarding experience can create close friendships and independence, but it also means the condition of dormitories, water and security directly affects students' daily lives.
Check the wording on your BAWSCO placement so you know whether to prepare for day or boarding school.
