About Half Assini Senior High
Half Assini Senior High, popularly known as HASCO, was established in 1960 as one of the Ghana Education Trust schools created during the early post-independence expansion of secondary education.
The school began with a small pioneer group and developed into a mixed day-and-boarding school serving Jomoro and students from much farther away. Its motto, "Only the Best is Good for Africa," reflects the ambitious national mood in which the school was created.
Students at HASCO can choose Agricultural Science, Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics and Visual Arts, with the programme pages showing what each choice covers.

History
Half Assini Senior High was established in 1960 as a Ghana Education Trust co-educational school during the presidency of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
A school anniversary account records the early school beginning with a small pioneer student group and four teachers under headmaster E. A. Haizel.
The school later expanded its programme range and residential facilities as demand grew.
HASCO's history is tied directly to the national decision to spread secondary education into more parts of Ghana rather than leave opportunity concentrated in a few older schools.
Academics
The current register lists Agricultural Science, Business, Home Economics, Visual Arts, General Arts and General Science at Half Assini Senior High.
That six-programme list gives students a broad range, but the subjects and practical requirements differ sharply between the options.
The Agricultural Science guide shows what students study in that option at HASCO.

Facilities
GES profiles of Half Assini Senior High have listed classrooms, multiple science laboratories, a library and computer laboratories among the school's academic facilities.
The school was built with substantial science infrastructure from its early years, but continued growth means maintenance, residential capacity and modern equipment remain important parts of the facilities picture.
Student Life
Students and old students commonly use the HASCO identity, while alumni organise through HASSOSA.
Sport, clubs, leadership, academic competition and boarding-house life create a school community that extends beyond formal lessons.
The motto "Only the Best is Good for Africa" is deliberately ambitious. A useful way to read it is not as pressure to be perfect, but as a challenge to take your education seriously enough to produce work you are proud to contribute.
Accommodation
Half Assini Senior High has both day and boarding students. Boarders at HASCO stay on campus for meals and evening study, while day students go home after school activities.
Residential life gives students more independence and more time inside the school community, but it also makes dormitory conditions, sanitation and supervision part of everyday school life.
Your HASCO placement will tell you whether you are joining as a boarder or a day student.
