About Kwabeng Anglican Senior High/Tech

Kwabeng Anglican Senior High/Tech grew from an Anglican initiative in the Atiwa area into a public mixed day-and-boarding school with both academic and technical programmes.

The school started small, but its identity has always carried two strands at once: ordinary secondary education and practical technical training. That combination is still visible in the programme choices students can make today.

Students choosing KASHTS can take Agricultural Science, Applied Technology, Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics and Visual Arts; the programme pages make the differences easier to see.

History

Kwabeng Anglican Senior High/Tech was established by the Anglican Diocese of Koforidua in the 1980s as a private technical school before it was absorbed into the public education system.

A 40th-anniversary account describes a school that began with only a small group of students and later grew into a much larger second-cycle school.

That origin still matters because KASHTS was not designed as a purely academic school. Technical learning has been part of its identity from the beginning.

Academics

Kwabeng Anglican Senior High/Tech teaches Agricultural Science, Applied Technology, Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics and Visual Arts at SHS level.

The technical programme is especially useful if you prefer learning that combines theory with practical construction, electrical or technology-related work.

Read the Applied Technology guide before putting Applied Technology at KASHTS on your school list.

Facilities

Infrastructure has been one of the clearest challenges in KASHTS's recent history. Students have dealt with pressure on classrooms, dining space and science facilities as enrolment expanded.

A major rainstorm also damaged classrooms, electricity and water-pumping infrastructure, showing how quickly one event can affect daily school routines.

Student Life

KASHTS sits in a community where education, technical training and local development overlap. Students have taken part in civic-education activities, school competitions and public programmes beyond the classroom.

The school's Anglican roots also remain part of its character even though it now operates within the public system.
