About Labone Senior High School
Labone Senior High School began in 1949 as a private school created to serve young people around Osu, La and nearby communities. It later moved to its present site as secondary education expanded in Accra.
Students often call the school L-A Bone or Labosco. Its motto, Primus Semper Aurora, is usually translated as "Always First at Dawn."
Students choosing Labone SHS can take Agricultural Science, Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics and Visual Arts; the programme pages make the differences easier to see.

History
Labone Senior High traces its beginning to 1949, when six leaders established a private school for young people living around Osu and La.
The Labone Old Students Association history explains how the school later benefited from Ghana's expansion of educational infrastructure and moved to the present Labone site.
The school anthem repeatedly refers to La, dawn and the charge to rise and work. That makes "Always First at Dawn" feel like part of the school's language rather than a motto added from outside.
Academics
Labone prepares students for the WASSCE through Agricultural Science, Business, Home Economics, Visual Arts, General Arts and General Science.
With six options in one school, students can have very different academic experiences depending on the programme they enter.
The General Science guide shows what students study in that option at Labone SHS.
Admissions & Entry Guidance
Students apply to Labone Senior High School through the national placement system after BECE. Compare the subjects in Agricultural Science, Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics and Visual Arts before settling on Labone SHS.
Use the CSSPS website to see your Labone SHS result and whether the place is for a day student or a boarder.
School placement is managed through CSSPS.
Facilities
Labone supports both day and boarding students, so the campus has to serve academic work, residential life and student activities at the same time.
A GBC Ghana report records an old-student donation of new entrance gates and notes needs involving classrooms, science laboratories, the dining hall and girls' dormitories.
Student Life
Labone students share a culture that reaches into sport, music, school-band activities, clubs, old-student events and the familiar Wuo Gbee, La Gbee call.
A MyJoyOnline feature on the LOSA health walk shows current students and old students sharing the same event, with the school brass band taking part.
Accommodation
Both day students and boarders attend Labone Senior High School. At Labone SHS, boarders remain on campus after lessons while day students travel home.
If you get a place at Labone SHS, check whether your placement says boarding or day.
