About Manya Krobo Senior High

The school has therefore changed in both location and student composition over time. What remained constant was its role as a major public senior high school serving the Manya Krobo area.

The options at MAKROSEC are Agricultural Science, Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics and Visual Arts; compare their subjects on the programme pages.

History

Manya Krobo Senior High officially opened on 15 November 1968 with boarding facilities for boys.

A Graphic Online anniversary report traces the school to the period after the former Presbyterian Secondary School at Odumase-Krobo relocated to Legon.

MAKROSEC became co-educational in 1971 and later moved to its present Nuaso site during the 1988/89 academic year.

The school had to reinvent itself more than once: first as a replacement second-cycle school, then as a mixed school, and later on a new permanent campus.

The campus is still developing. In 2026, the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly began work on a modern assembly hall intended for assemblies, examinations, cultural programmes and other school activities. Municipal project records also show classroom and sanitation projects at the school.
