History
Methodist Girls' Senior High School was founded in 1984 at Mamfe in the Eastern Region. From the beginning, the school developed within the educational tradition of the Methodist Church and focused specifically on the education and development of girls.
The school's official profile describes its emphasis on academic excellence, discipline, spiritual growth and the values represented in the motto "Honesty, Integrity, Industry."
MEGHIS has grown into a school where traditional academic programmes sit beside robotics, coding and engineering-oriented learning.
That combination matters because girls do not have to choose between a values-based school culture and serious exposure to modern technology.
Academics
Programme choices at Methodist Girls' Senior High School, Mamfe include Agricultural Science, Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics, STEM and Visual Arts.
The STEM option is worth looking at carefully because it includes Engineering Science and Robotics. It is not simply another name for General Science.
Before choosing Stem at MEGHIS, read the Stem guide and check the subject mix.
Admissions & Entry Guidance
Students apply to Methodist Girls' Senior High School, Mamfe through the national placement system after BECE. Read through the subjects in Agricultural Science, Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics, STEM and Visual Arts before making MEGHIS one of your choices.
The school's growing STEM profile may attract you, but the same rule still applies: choose the programme because its subjects fit your plans, not simply because the school has done well in a competition.
An old MEGHIS cut-off shows what happened in an earlier year, not what your own result will be.
If you get a place at MEGHIS, your placement will show whether you are a boarder or a day student. Check your MEGHIS result on the CSSPS website.
School placement is managed through CSSPS.
Facilities
One of the most distinctive learning spaces at MEGHIS is its robotics centre. The facility includes a training hall, research space, computers, robotics equipment, furniture and internet access.
A Ghana News Agency report documents the centre and the school's use of hands-on robotics tools for experimentation, building and invention.
Student Life
Methodist faith and discipline shape the school community, but students also have room to explore leadership, sport, clubs, creativity and technology.
Robotics has become a particularly visible part of the MEGHIS identity. Students have represented Ghana in international robotics competitions and the school continues to connect STEM learning with industry exposure.
That visibility can be useful for younger students because it provides examples of girls taking up engineering, coding and technology without treating those fields as unusual choices.
