About Oda Senior High

Oda Senior High, commonly called ODASCO, was established in 1960 as one of the Ghana Education Trust schools created during the post-independence expansion of secondary education.

The school's motto, "Knowledge, Truth and Service," joins three ideas that work best together: learn seriously, deal honestly with what you know and use that education beyond yourself.

Students at ODASCO can choose Agricultural Science, Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics and Visual Arts, with the programme pages showing what each choice covers.

History

Oda Senior High was established in 1960 as a co-educational Ghana Education Trust school in Akim Oda.

A school profile based on Ghana Education Service information records the 1960 establishment and the school's long-standing day-and-boarding identity.

The campus became part of the same nationwide trust-school expansion that created new secondary options in communities that previously had limited access.

ODASCO's history is therefore bigger than one town. It belongs to the period when Ghana deliberately tried to spread secondary education beyond the older concentration of established schools.

Academics

Oda Senior High teaches Agricultural Science, Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics and Visual Arts at SHS level.

That range gives students scientific, commercial, practical, creative and humanities options on one campus.

The Visual Arts guide shows what students study in that option at ODASCO.

Facilities

ODASCO's listed facilities include science and ICT laboratories, Home Economics space, a library, classroom blocks, dormitories and a sports field.

Some current needs are equally important to understand. During the school's 64th-anniversary activities, school leaders appealed for work on boys' sanitation and a replacement library after the old library had been converted into temporary girls' accommodation.

An alumnus has also pledged a multipurpose ICT laboratory to strengthen digital learning.

Student Life

ODASCO's anniversary activities show a school community in which old students remain involved through mentoring and legacy projects.

The school cadet corps also participates in ceremonial activities, while alumni year groups have contributed water storage and assembly-hall improvements.

The motto "Knowledge, Truth and Service" gives those activities a useful frame because education is expected to shape both ability and conduct.
