About Odorgonno Senior High
Odorgonno Senior High began in Adabraka in 1940 as a boys' day school founded by Joseph Thomas Leigh with other educationists. The school later became co-educational and eventually moved to its current campus at Awoshie.
Students and old students often call the school Great OSSA. The motto, Nobis Nitendum Est, is commonly translated as "Ours is to Strive," a fitting phrase for a school whose history includes relocation, expansion and repeated efforts to improve its campus.
Agricultural Science, Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics and Visual Arts are available at Great OSSA; use the programme pages to look at the subject combinations.

History
Odorgonno Senior High was established on 25 January 1940 by Joseph Thomas Leigh, a former teacher of Accra High School, together with other educationists.
The school history records that Odorgonno began behind the Adabraka Police Station as a boys' school and was absorbed into the public system in 1966.
The school later moved to Awoshie and developed into the mixed day-and-boarding school students know today.
Odorgonno's story is one of a school changing location and structure without losing the identity built around the name OSSA.
Academics
The current register lists Agricultural Science, Business, Home Economics, Visual Arts, General Arts and General Science at Odorgonno.
That programme range gives students scientific, commercial, practical, creative and humanities options within the same school.
Before choosing Visual Arts at Great OSSA, read the Visual Arts guide and check the subject mix.
Admissions & Entry Guidance
To apply to Odorgonno Senior High, include it in your school choices after BECE. Look at the subjects in Agricultural Science, Business, General Arts, General Science, Home Economics and Visual Arts, not only the Great OSSA name.
Great OSSA has day and boarding students, but your placement will say which applies to you. Read it on the CSSPS website.
School placement is managed through CSSPS.
Facilities
Odorgonno's facilities are a good example of why you should look beyond a school name. Students need spaces that work for the programme they actually study.
A recent report on practical learning documented science lessons being conducted in a converted dining-hall space and the lack of a dedicated practical centre for Visual Arts.
At Odorgonno Senior High, the spaces and equipment you use will depend on the subjects in your programme.
Student Life
Great OSSA has a visible alumni identity, and old students have continued to support the campus through mentorship, infrastructure and emergency assistance.
A Ghana News Agency report records alumni contributions including a transformer, streetlights, roofing work and support for walkways and other projects.
Sport, clubs, academic competition and student leadership create other ways for students to contribute to the school community.
Accommodation
Odorgonno Senior High runs day and boarding arrangements. Day students leave after school activities, while Great OSSA boarders continue with meals and evening study on campus.
When your Great OSSA placement arrives, look for the part that says day or boarding.
